The Graduate School of Education is an educational, scientific, methodological structural unit of the University, carrying out educational, scientific research, educational, cultural, educational and other activities in the field of science and higher education; trains competitive specialists with higher fundamental education, developing scientific research and development at a high level, effectively implementing their results in the economy and society.
The mission of the Graduate School of Education is to become an educational center that trains highly qualified professional personnel who contribute to the development and improvement of the quality of education in the country, as well as changes in educational thinking.
The main factors of successful functioning of the Graduate School of Education influencing their competitiveness and profitability, are flexibility, adaptability and the desire for continuous development. The development prospects are determined by the interaction of the triad "training-research-innovation" and the continuous improvement of innovative activities, the integration of science, the social sphere and the international educational, scientific and information environment.

The Higher School of Education has a long history of its development, starting with the Pedagogical Institute of Tselinograd (1962), which trained specialists in pedagogical fields.
Until 1993, it existed as the Akmola Pedagogical Institute and the Faculty of History.
In 1993, the Faculty of Physical Education joined the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences.
In 2009, the Faculty of Social Sciences was created by combining the pedagogical and historical and philological faculties.
By order of the Rector of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov Sydykov E.B. in 2024 the Higher School of Education was created by combining pedagogical sciences. PhD, associate professor Somzhurek Baubek Zhumashuly was appointed the first director of the Higher School of Education.
The strategic directions of the development of the Higher School of Education of the L. N. Gumilyov ENU for 2021-2025 are developed on the basis of the mission and vision of the L. N. Gumilyov ENU in accordance with the program documents of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of education and science on the basis of the continuity of the strategic documents of the L. N. Gumilyov ENU, taking into account the priorities and global trends in the development of higher education. The constituent directions of the faculty's development are:
- Expansion of scientific and international relations with foreign universities for the preparation of undergraduates and doctoral students;
- Support and development of educational programs in English in the process of training specialists, contributing to the expansion of the range of their professional and functional competencies;
- Accreditation, internationalization and promotion of educational programs in the specializations of professional training;
- Opening of new educational programs supported by certifying documents (Bachelor's degree in Islamic Studies; Master's degree in Preschool Education and Training, Crisis Psychology);
- Stimulating the activities and improving the effectiveness of employees ' activities through the KPI system in accordance with their positions; updating the system of requirements for competitive selection of teaching staff, taking into account an innovative approach to educational activities, systematic participation in research work, publications in leading domestic and foreign publications.
Research work in higher education is based on the concept of a research-type university. Research is primarily aimed at developing and improving the educational process and improving the quality of training graduates at all levels of higher and postgraduate education. Planning of scientific work of a higher school of education is carried out in accordance with the priority areas of scientific research. Research is carried out by the teaching staff and students (doctoral students, master's students and students).
Directions of research work:
- scientific fundamental and applied research on planned and initiative topics;
- research on scientific and methodological support of the educational process (creation of textbooks, teaching and teaching aids, etc.);
- supervision of students' research papers, dissertations of master's and doctoral students;
- development of scientific ties between higher education teachers and the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, universities of the republic, as well as universities in the near and far abroad;
- scientific and organizational work on holding conferences in higher education and participation of teachers in conferences of various ranks outside the university;
- participation in the work of dissertation committees, etc.
